Would you still believe if there were no reward in the afterlife
by donny insome months ago i was listening to a co-worker witnessing to some others about why he believes and why they should to.
as i listened i kept hearing over and over about the "rewards" of eternal life in heaven in the kingdom of god.
later on we had a conversation that went like this.. me: can i ask you a question about your beliefs?.

Donny, Millions of former JW'S fell for the "LURE" " The Carrot " you can live forever on a paradise earth. Once we came to learn this was not true we abandoned the watchtower society.
What does this tell us? No reward, no service given. Why should we serve when there is nothing in return for our service.
So, why believe in a reward in the afterlife if we find out that there is no reward.
As to doing things God's way without anything in return and death is final, maybe because we live for the moment and enjoy this only life we have.
Does our way make us happy in this life, or does God's way make us happy in this life?
I once believed in the watchtower's teaching along with millions of others. I no longer believe in the lure,the carrot of any religion.

Generation Issue: The Reason
by metatron inthe "generation" issue has puzzled me for some time.
why would the society bring up and keep talking about this issue?
logically, they should have left the whole thing alone and not brought it up again.. but then i remembered............ once upon a time, i had to deal with a fellow elder who was a real old timer, with lots of connections in the organization.

Not to be morbid but are you waiting for someone to die?
by Mad Sweeney inthe only reason i have not da'd is because my mom asked me not to.
i fully expect her funeral to be the last time i set foot in a kingdom hall (assuming i can't manage to convince enough of the family to do a secular funeral).
i will thereafter become an active and aggressive member of the "vast apostate army.".

When we were still active a close friend would help us with money and a car. When we started to fade that stopped. We were going to get some financial benefits if we remained active. We left it all behind. No simony for us.

possibly a tract or brochure - haven't had any other details yet.
maybe they are even going to offer the bible (now that would be a novelty!).

Here they go again! recycled message over and over and over again. Which Bible translation are they pushing in the tract.
The note on the bottom would propably read, all scriptures are from the New world translation of the watchtower bible and tract society.
The householder's bible may say something different then their translation in the tract.
